Animal Shelters

Animal shelters rely on donations to rescue mistreated, hungry and frightened animals. Thousands of pets each year are put to sleep because there are not enough loving homes that will adopt homeless pets. Many open homes purchase unaltered dogs from breeders or puppy mills, which leads to more unwanted homeless dogs being put to sleep.

Animal shelters include spay/neuter services along with the adoption fees, initial vaccinations and microchips. If you have an unaltered pet, consider having it spayed or neutered to help control the overflowing pet population. For information, regarding adopting a homeless pet, donations or volunteer work, please contact your local animal shelter or the Humane Society of North Texas.
